Your essay is spot on. I’m shocked about how many children are on medication and at such a young age. When I was young parents just put their kids outside all day. We climbed trees, rode our bikes around the street, played imaginary games with our bicycles. We turned them upside down and pretended we were an ice cream man. Life was an adventure outside and we couldn’t wait to get out there and play with our friends. How fun it was to play kickball on the street without adults to tell us what to do. How fun it was to make tree forts with our friends in the woods. We felt so important riding our bikes to the grocery store to pick up milk for our Mom, and it was thrilling to buy ourselves some candy.
I feel sorry for all these kids nowadays that are cooped up in the house, relying on technology and their parents to entertain them. There’s only one thing wrong with these children that are cooped up inside. It’s called boredom.
