Take the 2016 debates. When Trump loomed spookily close to Hillary Clinton on stage in an obvious attempt to intimidate her, many of us saw it for exactly what it was. He wasn’t just trying to rattle her — he was sending a message of “strength through intimidation” through the cameras. My husband missed that completely.
