I remember pantyhose well. A newlywed, I worked an office job in the early 80s and worked with all men, but I had a way different experience.
My boss could be a bit chauvinistic, but the other guys treated me great.
One used to do the filing for me because I hated it. He treated me to lunch and became a good friend, but he never once hit on me.
The guys often dispensed fatherly advice and one used to tell me his problems with his wife, but he never ever hit on me either. They all knew I loved my husband.
When I became pregnant with my son , an older gentleman used to leave an egg McMuffin and a coffee on my desk every morning, because he thought I wasn’t eating enough. The guys made bets with each other if I was carrying a boy or a girl.
Then they all showed up for my work baby shower bearing generous gifts. And my office guy friend came over to my house after my son was born with his little daughter bringing a gift for my baby.
I will never forget those guys from Connecticut.
