I fell for a songwriting scam once. The guy charged me $1500. to get someone to cover my song. He made a new version of my song without my permission. He completely changed the music ( it had already won an honorable mention with my music in a major worldwide songwriting contest.) He kept my lyrics and wrote his own music to it, ( my music was better)and never delivered on what he promised- which was a cover by a famous singer. I vowed to never trust anyone in the music business again.
