I can relate to it all. The limerence, the focusing on interests and then describing it to people and not realizing they were clearly not interested. Always feeling left out like I was never in a loop.
Unrecognized for my talents by my supervisors. Fortunately, during my last year and a half of work, two lovely women started working in my unit. They were kind, funny, welcoming, and inclusive, and they made my last few months there enjoyable. For the first time in years, my birthday was celebrated at work and they threw me a beautiful retirement party. The right people have the power to change someone’s life. I will always be grateful to those women.
