As a mother of 4 now grown adult children, I completely agree. Teach them love and how to be diplomatic as they grow up. They should learn about the world and be encouraged to debate with others and have strong morals and beliefs. Yet they should never be taught hate.
They should be raised to play in a safe, secure environment and taught respect for adults. Yet, if they’re mistreated they should be able to speak up. They should be taught that no adult should cross their boundaries and harm them. In those situations they should be encouraged to tell a trusted parent or teacher.
If they want to fight for human rights when they’re older, all the power to them. One of my children chose this as her life passion and career. They can do this with logic, passion, and diplomacy, not hate and vitriol.
